What to Expect

Coming to see a psychologist can feel daunting. Here’s what you can expect in a session with me:

  • Before your first appointment, we’ll make sure I’m the right person to support your needs.

  • Your privacy and confidentiality will be respected, within the usual professional and legal limits (which we’ll discuss together).

  • A space that aims to feel comfortable and safe.

  • Time to talk things through at your pace.

  • To be listened to with respect and empathy, whatever the size of the problem.

  • Support to explore and understand your difficulties more deeply.

  • Responses that are thoughtful, compassionate, and non-judgemental.

  • Evidence-based strategies tailored to your goals and circumstances.

  • Regular check-ins about how things are going, so we can adjust the approach if needed.

My Approach

I offer practical, evidence-based support that is tailored to your goals and circumstances.

My approach is:

  • Client-centred and collaborative – we work together to decide what is most important to focus on.

  • Strengths-based – we build on what is already working in your life, not just on what’s difficult.

  • Grounded in evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Fees and Rebates

My fees are in line with current Australian guidelines for psychological services.
Medicare rebates are usually available with a GP referral, and some private health funds may also provide rebates.
