Brief Profile – Jay Beckley, Psychologist

• I have been working in mental health since 2006. I started as a support worker in inpatient mental health.

• Since 2010 I have been working clinically with people with mental health and substance use disorders.

• I have worked in inpatient mental health and forensic hospitals, prisons, schools and community settings.

 

Qualifications and Credentials

• Master of Educational Psychology (Honours), Graduate Diploma Arts (Psych), Bachelor of Health Science.

• I’m a full member of the Australian Psychological Society.

 

Therapeutic Interventions – I am trained in:

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,

• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,

• Dialectical Behavioural Therapy,

• Motivational Interviewing.

 

Area of Practice

• Adolescents and adults who experience depression, anxiety, PTSD, work stress and chronic pain.

• Adults with substance use issues: alcohol, methamphetamine, prescription medication, cannabis.

• I work in a custom designed home/office practice with a separate entrance for clients in The Ridges, Peregian Springs. 

• I have clients that travel as far as Caloundra and Landsborough.
